About CGP
Founded in 1962, CGP is one of the leading construction companies in Slovenia. The company operates across a wide range of large-scale infrastructure projects, including buildings, railways, waterways, bridges and highways. Their mission focuses on comprehensive support for their projects, from design to execution, with an emphasis on sustainable solutions that combine functionality and economic efficiency.
The company’s operational needs
CGP manages a large fleet of vehicles used for asphalt, concrete and material transport, making accurate tracking of activities, vehicles and costs a critical operational challenge.
Previously, the company relied on paper-based processes to monitor vehicle usage, kilometers and working time, with drivers manually recording trips and activities. This method was time-consuming, error-prone and difficult to verify.
CGP therefore set out to digitize these workflows in order to eliminate paper, save time, secure data, reduce errors through process automation, and ensure devices were ruggedized and used strictly for professional purposes, with access limited to required applications only (no social media or non-business apps).
What we built together
In collaboration with a Slovenian software company, CGP deployed a dedicated business application on Famoco tablets. Each driver authenticates using a QR code and selects the assigned vehicle. Every action is recorded as an activity (material loading and unloading, driving, etc.), with automatic calculation of time and kilometers. Each vehicle is tracked separately, ensuring accurate cost allocation from start to finish. The simplicity of the solution allows new workers, including external subcontractors, to be onboarded in no time.
Devices are prepared in advance using the Famoco MDM platform, enabling centralized device management and ensuring that workers only access the applications required for their specific activities. As the only administrator, David uses the device management suite for tasks such as testing new profiles, deploying applications, rolling out updates, or sending pop-up messages directly to drivers (e.g. reminders to charge devices overnight) – all remotely.
