DMA Limited is a Tanzanian-based company founded by Rob Madziva specializing in providing digital solutions for the agricultural Fintech sectors in Africa. The company helps farmers, agents, banks, FMCGs and B2B agribusinesses through its data-driven platform, offering services like access to finance, agri-inputs, and markets.
The company is a long-standing client and partner that has trusted Famoco’s solutions from the very beginning. DMA equips more than 800 agents with Famoco technologies. With payment services such as Community Pass by Mastercard, Famoco’s devices enable farmers to securely verify their identity as well as farmers’ production and transactions. This enables transparency and accurate data collection, reducing fraud while ensuring fair tracking of farmers’ activity.
A reliable technology for farmers
DMA was looking for a reliable technology solution certified by Mastercard to digitize the value chain for smallholder farmers and micro-enterprises in Africa, offering them an innovative agribusiness ecosystem that tackled challenges like the access to quality inputs, climate resilience, and financial inclusion. Using standard smartphones could lead to issues such as limited control over device usage and faulty transactions. DMA also sought a comprehensive device management system to provide valuable inputs of the farmers activities (track of real-time data on the location, map of all transactions, monitor of the movements of devices, etc).
The deployment of the solution
Famoco stood out for offering hardware specifically designed for professional use, tailored to the agricultural environment. The FX205SE and Famoco Tab have been handed over to mobile agents after undergoing training by DMA company. The device usage is securely managed by Famoco’s MDM platform, which ensures DMA’s data sovereignty along with the protection of agents’ activities.
