Orange Côte d’Ivoire is one of the country’s leading telecommunications operators. The company provides mobile, internet, and financial services to millions of customers across the entire territory.

Historically, Orange Côte d’Ivoire customers had to visit physical agencies to register and submit service requests. Over time, the operator brought its services closer to customers by developing field sales, relying on agents deployed on the ground, in Orange kiosks and multi-operator (non-exclusive) retail points.

The company’s operational needs

Before implementing the Famoco solution, Orange Côte d’ivoire relied on standard Android devices. Customer acquisition in the field was less developed than today, and usage was not sufficiently controlled. The terminals could be used for non-professional purposes (calls, internet browsing, social media), raising security, control, and performance concerns. In addition, device configuration was done individually, with no real visibility over device activity once deployed in the field.

The company was therefore looking for a solution capable of: securing devices and restricting usage to business applications, scaling field sales and customer acquisition and ensuring usage aligns with performance KPIs. 

What we built together

Since 2018, Orange Côte d’Ivoire has equipped its field agents, including both sales representatives and technicians, with Famoco devices such as the Famoco Touch, which are designed for intensive use and embed the operator’s business applications. These devices allow agents to onboard new customers and track installations directly in the field in a fast and efficient way.

Security was a key factor in the selection of the Famoco solution, which relies on a hardened Android operating system (Famoco OS) combined with the Famoco MDM platform. This combination enables fast, consistent, and secure large-scale deployment while ensuring that all devices are fully managed through a centralized interface. As a result, devices are strictly dedicated to professional use, limited to authorized business applications, and completely unusable outside of this framework, which eliminates any potential misuse or theft (no street value).

Orange Côte d’Ivoire  also leverages MDM platform supervision features, including:

  • Push notifications to send communication campaigns (text, image, or video) to field teams and quickly adapt to operational changes,
  • Geolocation and activity tracking (last usage, battery level, etc.), providing better visibility over the deployed fleet.



Today, two technical experts manage the MDM, while new users have been trained and are now autonomous in supporting field teams effectively.

The deployment has enabled Orange Côte d’Ivoire to significantly simplify and accelerate customer acquisition processes while increasing the number of customers. The operator has also highlighted the quality of its relationship with Famoco, which is characterized by strong proximity, high availability, and a deep understanding of field constraints.
